The National Medal of Honor Museum of Military History in Chattanooga displays uniforms and gear from past wars and conflicts as well as artifacts related to people who have been awarded the Medal of Honor. The first medal of Honor was awarded during the Civil War and more than half of the medals since 1941 have been awarded posthumously. They are bestowed upon members of the armed forces that have distinguished themselves in battle above and beyond the call of duty. The National Medal of Honor Museum of Military History is recruiting members to raise awareness and funds for the collection. Around and About is a production of WUTC in Chattanooga.
