The sequence shows Fuego producing three impressive explosive eruptions, sending large plumes of ash and volcanic gases above the crater. Volcán de Fuego is one of the most active volcanoes in Central America, with frequent explosive activity ranging from smaller bursts to much larger eruptions like those captured in this video. Because our camera is roughly 8 km (5 miles) from the summit, there's a noticeable delay between seeing an explosion and hearing it. Sound takes approximately 26 seconds to travel from Fuego to the camera.
