When thinking of clubs in Britain that represented trance, walking the fine line between crossover appeal and underground, attaining "Superclub" status without the Mixmag approved , almost elitist snobbishness of Ministry & Cream, Gatecrasher is the club that springs to mind, with God's Kitchen in close second. 'Crasher never compromised it's atmosphere of crazy energy, or it's mission of taking luvdup ravers on a unique journey. A haven for millenial trance-mad "Cyber Kids", Gen-X NRG/Euro headz & hardcore ravers (disillusioned with vibe-wrecking MC's and the monthly wait between events). Who could get the same bpms, as Mark EG & M-Zone, Trade or Nukleuz, with a versatile mix of hard dance, from hard house, acid techno, to hard, euro, hoover & prog-trance. At least one weekend roster, if not both would deliver for varied tastes, which eventually became the Crasher modus operandi: a fine mix of all the above, not to mention Prog/Epic house legends like Sasha, Diggers & Muir leaving a musical legacy that has never been equalled IMO. THIS COMPILATION EXEMPLIFIES ALMOST 2 DECADES OF CRASHER TRANCE ANTHEMS. & I realise some find Jules a turnoff for his genre hopping, and accusations of promoting mainstream rather than underground talent...I agree to an extent, but can't deny his mix here is REALLY DAMN GOOD!
