SPOTTING BARGAINS IN A RETAIL ANTIQUE VINTAGE MALL!

ANTIQUE & VINTAGE IN FLORENCE, KENTUCKY | RESELLING | SHOP WITH ME Florence, Kentucky and its Italian namesake city have one other thing in common...antiques! This big vintage mall often has sales in concert with the nearby Burlington Antique Show, a monthly Spring/Summer/Autumn event. We get in just on the heels of the last show and sale of the season! Many spaces are 20% off for this sale, but I happily pay full price for a pair of super stylish 1960s turquoise barstools, knowing my $99 investment will soon return $225. A Florida screenprint tumbler has to travel south with me, and I ponder a panther with a great 1950s drip glaze, made by somebody other than Haeger. Beyond my bargain hunting, we get to explore pockets of collectibles a little different than we've seen in past videos. Just downriver from Ohio, we find Hull Pottery in a happy, colorful kitchenware line and a Parchment & Pine basket that's exuberant in its 1950s style. Perhaps more surprising are vibrant and fun Treasure Craft and Frankoma pieces from far away competitors. We enjoy an introduction to Georges Briard, then turn around to be face-to-face with Gary Cooper! We could tell our friends if only the phone camera wasn't in use...thankfully there's a case full of the most popular 20th century rotary phones, all reconditioned to use today. Why does the sign say "Antiques" in a booth full of new stuff? There's lots of strategies to selling in the antique business, and we talk about what works and doesn't for a true vintage reseller or collector, with illustrations to guide us. Two side-by-side showcases contrast the 'focused collector' approach to display with the 'real estate costs money' approach. Florence's antique mall may never pass for Florentine Renaissance, but its mid-century vintage vibe finds us taking home some cool collectibles!-and we didn't have to pay a customs fee. Here's more of what you'll see in this video: Hull Sunglow, cylinder disks and Gem portable cylinder player, RCA Nipper the Dog, candlestick phone, Western Electric phones, wall phones, western toy box, cone top beer cans, 1976 Frankoma series Bicentennial decanter, 1950 banana wall pocket, Sea World plate, Gonder panther, 1970s dress, Gary Cooper movie banner, Victorian iron ornamental building decorations, day-glo bumper sticker, Czech glass spatter bud vase, circus animal tin, kids' riding toys, Blenko paperweight, etc. ———————————————————— Are you interested in exclusive content and special perks that help support this channel? ☀️ Become a member today at the following link! https://bit.ly/32dfTcz ———————————————————— Follow me on social media, check out my eBay listings, and buy my book! ☀️ Faceb ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oHaZVPqQPo
